26 episodes from the first five seasons of the show were dubbed in Czech for airing on the channel ČST1 from 1988 to 1993. It was note that this show first aired when the Czech Republic was still Czechoslovakia and the communism in the country wasn't ended until a year later at the near end of The Cold War and the country wasn't dissoluted with Slovakia in 1993, and was the one of the few western cartoons to be aired on Czechoslovakian televisions at the time.
Trivia[]
- The ČST dub is the only Czech version to visually translate the series logo at the end of the opening intro. This dub also have translated episode cards too, but it featured a rather custom episode card never seen in any other dubs. For example, the translated episode text were put above an hand-drawn Smurfette and a Smurf in a yellow background.
- The intro of the ČST dub used the theme for the "Johan & Peewit" episodes as the opening theme for the show, but with lyrics dedicated to the Smurfs.
- This dub also have added dubbing credits. At the end of the Czech dubbing credits in this dub, the last seconds have the Czech texts "Konec" in the orange credits background, meaning "the end".
