Štrumpfovi (also known as Штрумпфови) is the Serbo-Croatian voice-over of The Smurfs. It has previously aired on TVB 1 in SR Serbia, when it was one of the six constituent republics of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Another set of episodes were recorded from 1996 when the channel became RTS 1 when Serbia was a constituent state of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (later known as Serbia and Montenegro until 2006). In 2011, a dub would be produced, which would be broadcast on B92 in present-day Serbia.

Trivia[]

  • Given the convulsed political climate of the country in the 1980s, and the subsequent wars that would lead to the fall and dismemberment of the Yugoslav country in the 1990s, there is a possibility that this voice-over is illegal (without any authorization from IMPS, Worldvision Enterprises and Turner Broadcasting System), just like many that were produced in those years, due to the isolationism that was growing more and more against Serbia. This possibility is further supported, when we consider that the official dub was just produced in 2011, and that background audio is French, and not English.
  • Currently, it can only find episodes recorded in 1984. Those of the 1996 version are lost media, since these were destroyed after the NATO bombing of the Radio Television of Serbia headquarters, in 1999, as well as much more material that could not be rescued.
