Зима в Простоквашино is the third Soviet cartoon of 1984 from the Prostokvashino trilogy, but at the same time not based on the story "Uncle Fyodor, the Dog and the Cat": Eduard Uspensky wrote his script from scratch and only in 1997 novelized it into a novel of the same name with a very expanded plot.
