The Dubbing Database

Рождество в Шумном доме is the Russian dub of A Loud House Christmas. While it did not premiere in Russia due to the Ukraine invasion-induced shutdown of the Russian feed of Nickelodeon on April 28, 2022, it premiered on Nickelodeon CEE in Estonia and Latvia on December 11, 2022, coinciding with those of the Estonian and Latvian voice-overs. This makes the dub the first piece of Russian-dubbed Loud House media to not see a release in Russia itself, despite the fact that the dubbing studio that produced the dub is headquartered within the country.

Censorship[]

The inclusion of LGBT characters (Clyde's fathers Howard and Harold, Luna and her girlfriend Sam) caused the film to be banned from airing on Nickelodeon's Russian feed, which was still available in several other post-Soviet states (such as Ukraine and Kazakhstan) at the time of the film's release. The dissemination and promotion of LGBT content is prohibited by law in Russia, where the international LGBT movement has been designated as an extremist organization.

The dub was still aired in Estonia, Latvia and Moldova, where censorship guidelines regarding LGBT content are much looser compared to Russia. However, with the dub being produced in Russia, several lines regarding Clyde's fathers were censored. Clyde refers to them as his "parents" when speaking with Lincoln, and he doesn't address Howard and Harold as "dads" in front of them. Luna's line "Sam broke up with me..." was also translated as "Sam and I had a fight...".
