Censorship

Like many other programs on the channel, the broadcast of the series on the Cartoon Network RSEE feed was edited for content. In addition to using Turner EMEA/WarnerMedia EMEA's own regionwide edits, the broadcast on the channel also removed additional scenes, which was likely done to comply with Russian regulations. The show was given a 6+ rating rather than the 12+ rating used by most programs on the channel, which especially seems to explain much of the censorship.

The broadcasting area that aired the show on this feed included not only Russia, but also ex-Soviet countries, Baltic countries, Bulgaria and ex-Yugoslav countries as well. Of these, Bulgaria and the ex-Yugoslav countries is especially notable, as the RSEE feed's edits meant to cater to Russian viewers would also inadvertently affect the televised broadcast of the Bulgarian, Serbian, Croatian and Slovene heavily in the same ways.

Even after Cartoon Network RSEE ceased broadcasting in Russia entirely in March 2022, the RSEE-exclusive content edits imposed upon the series were likely retained. It is currently unknown if the censorship was relaxed after the merger of the RSEE, Poland and CEE feeds to form the Eastern Europe feed. However, some of the edits listed underneath may have been shared with the Poland and CEE feeds.

Specific edits

While a few of the following edits were done directly by Turner EMEA/WarnerMedia EMEA, many of them were instead imposed by the CN RSEE management team. It is unknown if these edits have been reversed following the Eastern Europe merger.

Season 1

• In "The Ape":
  • The scene where the kids aim soda cans at Miss Simian's car was cut in some airings.
  • The scene where Anais aims Darwin (whose mouth is filled with candy) at Miss Simian's car was cut in some airings.
• In "The Car"
  • In reruns, the scene where Mr. and Mrs. Robinson hold a duster and golf club and say “Here come the Robinsons” was recolored, possibly due to fire imagery.
• "The Fight":
  • Scenes of Gumball running from Tina were slowed down in reruns to prevent seizures in children.

Season 2

• In "The Remote":
  • Darwin's line, "It's under his butt, isn't it?", along with Gumball and Darwin facepalms several times was cut.
• In "The Flower":
  • Jealousy's attempt to kick Leslie was cut.
• In "The Banana":
  • Darwin trying to attack Banana Joe was cut.
• In "The Phone":
  • Bobert's line, "That spells 'poop' in binary code." was cut.
• In "The Treasure":
  • "How to Ratatwang Your Panda" was cut.
• In "The Apology":
  • Gumball's line, "Oh, why do I have to run every eight minutes of my life?!" is cut.
• In "Christmas":
  • Nicole telling the Watterson children that Santa does not exist was cut in reruns; this edit is shared with other EMEA-region feeds. Her "little conversation" instead starts straight from her story, and her last line before realizing the kids are gone is "But he never came".
    • Also, the scene when Nicole says that many things are not real while searching through the park for her children was cut in reruns. This edit is also shared with other EMEA-region feeds.
• In "The Tag":
  • Gumball's line, "Mr. Robinson, we need you to stop this feud or you and Dad are gonna end up in prison." along with Mr. Robinson's line, "Almost there... darn it!" is cut.

Season 3

• In "The Puppy":
  • Gumball saying, "What the pup?!" was cut in reruns.
• In "The Name":
  • Gumball's line, "I'll kick a crab in the face!" was cut.
• In "The Gripes"
  • The scene where Conrad saying "naked" words was cut.
• In "The Fraud":
  • Principal Brown's line, "Swag! Rap music!" along with Gumball's line, "What the what?!" was cut.
• In "The Boss":
  • The scene where Rocky whistles with his butt was cut.
• In "The Procrastinators":
  • Gumball vomiting the chocolate bar on Darwin is cut.
• In "The Man":
  • Granny Jojo and Louie's first kissing scene was cut not to include a long kiss.
    • For some reason, a very short part of Richard's reaction to Jojo and Louie kissing the first time was cut.
  • The "Man Washing" round is cut.
• In "The Society":
  • The scene where Gumball scratches Principal Brown's finger with his index finger was cut. However, the scratch sound can still be heard.
• In "The Spoiler":
  • Gumball choking on the music player was cut.

Season 4

• In "The Sale":
  • The scene where Gumball spits and tries to swallow was cut.
• In "The Parking":
  • The scene where Nicole paints on the car in the disabled citizens zone with lipstick was shortened.
• In "The Signal":
  • The scene where Gumball and Darwin enter precipitately at the parking lot was cut until when the people depart.
• In "The Love":
  • The last part of the "it's all about chemistry" segment when it is revealed that two characters are interested in a homosexual relationship was cut.
• In "The Awkwardness":
  • The scene where Gumball puts his hand in his eye and screams in slow motion was cut to the moment when Gumball repeatedly presses the elevator's button.
• In "The Roots":
  • The scene where Alison fights over brown bear was cut.
  • The Wattersons freaking out after Gumball suggests to release Darwin back into the wild was cut.
  • The scene where Darwin tries to jump on the Wattersons' car and accidentaly jumps on the Banana Bob's and Banana Barbara's car and his quote, "What is wrong with you?" while he scares Banana Joe and Banana Bob was cut.
  • Darwin's quote "You abandon me, then go for ice cream?!" was also cut, along with the Watterson screaming.
• In "The Compilation":
  • Gumball and Darwin's belching challenge was cut.

Season 5

• In "The Guy":
  • The scene where Tobias flushes off his colors was cut.
  • Josh's line, "Please, guys, guys! You don't have to do that.", along with Gumball and Darwin snorting their boogers back and asking, "We don't?" and Josh responding with, "No." was cut.
• In "The Boredom":
  • The scene where Harold vomits into the hexagon lady's purse was cut.
• In "The Test":
  • Gumball looking deformed while Felix snacks on chips is cut.
  • Gumball throwing up his venom at Tobias is cut. The episode ends right after Sarah throws a guitar at the screen.
• In "The Slide":
  • Rocky running over Brydie's father is cut.
• In "The Loophole":
  • The scene where Bobert headbutts Gumball the second time and the latter gains a black eye was cut; instead Bobert's second headbutt sends Gumball a year back.
  • The part where Gumball's tongue gets mutated was cut.
  • The scene where Bobert speaks about methane produced by Melted Cheese Guy's gases was cut.
• In "The Fuss":
  • The part of the scene where Richard tries to use his brain was cut.
• In "The Copycats":
  • The scene where the Wattersons fight their doppelgangers is edited multiple times. Specifically:
    • All of the scenes depicting Nicole and Chi Chi's mom using animesque attacks against each other are cut.
    • Gumball bumping into the stair rail is cut.
    • Anais saying "Are we done here?", as well as Nicole and Chi Chi's mom responding with "Yeah, I think she is." is cut.
    • Nicole and Chi Chi's mom blowing on their fists is cut.
  • Richard smiling underwater was cut.
  • The scene where Anais is sitting in front of a laptop, Nicole is jumping through the window, Gumball and Darwin are on the scooter and Richard is walking on high heels was cut.
  • The scene where the Wattersons jump out of the truck and then bounce back in was cut to the moment where the Wattersons scream helplessly after Nicole says, "Has anyone else got an idea?"
• In "The Outside":
  • The scene where Frankie is seen with a spork in his nose was cut; instead it fades to the next scene.
• In "The Matchmaker":
  • The scene where Darwin regurgitates the burger and spits out the water was cut.
  • In the flashback scene where it shows who Darwin kissed before Teri, everything after him kissing Gumball is cut.
    • In the next scene, Teri's line, "Alright enough!" and Darwin saying "What" zooming into his teeth is cut.
• In "The Box":
  • The scene where Tobias gets attacked by a zombie and a zombified planet Earth is attempting to bite the moon was cut.
• In "The Ollie":
  • The scene where Darwin's body splits and Gumball drags it around was cut.
  • The poor boy in the flashback saying, "criminy" was cut.
• In "The Stars":
  • The scene where Gumball and Darwin have huge stomachs was cut.
  • The scene where Richard screams while a ray of sunshine reflects off his head was cut.
• In "The Grades":
  • During the scene where the kids cause havoc, the moments where Timmy puts some food and after some toilet paper in Gumball's mouth and nose and presses so hard that it comes from his ears was cut due to the fact that kids might imitate it.
  • The scene where Gumball picks the brain and throws it away was cut.
  • The scene where Miss Simian bites Principal Brown's fingers was cut.
  • The scene where Gumball pulls on a string and one of his organs flies out is cut.
• In "The Diet":
  • The scene where Richard's saliva drops on Darwin while hanging on the ceiling was cut.
• In "The Sorcerer":
  • Gumball's butt talking is cut.
• In "The Menu":
  • The scene where Richard says, "One secret [Static] burger to go, you little— [Static]" was cut due to implied language.
  • The scene when Larry spits in Richard's burger was cut.
  • The scene where Richard tries to eat Burgie's fingers is changed to first cut the part out when he takes off Burgie's fingers, when he deep fries the finger and when he puts it in his mouth. Additionally, his line after chewing, 'I was wrong' was also cut because it makes no sense without the previous cut scene.
  • Richard sweating out both "sward" and "sweeze" were cut.
  • The ending scene where Richard tries to eat the M'Guffin was cut.
• In "The Uncle":
  • The part where the Rotten Cupcake kicks Gumball in the groin is cut.
  • After the Rotten Cupcake puts the trashcan over Gumball's head, he only hits him three times.
  • The part where the Rotten Cupcake staggers and begs for help after the weights fall on his face is cut.
  • The part where Gumball's eyeballs pop out from withholding his laughter is cut.
  • The scene where Ocho abducts Gumball is completely absent from the episode. As a result, half of the episode was mostly cut out.
• In "The Weirdo":
  • The scene where Julius gives Sussie chewed gum was cut between him saying, "Hey, weirdo!" and Gumball taking off his clothes.
  • The scene during "Hey There Sussie" where Sussie washes her face with water from the toilet was zoomed in so the toilet wouldn't be seen.
  • Part of "Hey There Sussie" was cut, specifically all the lines between "And take the whole world on the chin" and "She might bathe in rancid fruit"
• In "The Best":
  • The part where hazmat workers are trying to catch intoxicated Gumball was cut.
• In "The Worst":
  • The scene where Nicole punches the car wheel was cut.
  • Nicole roars at Gumball and Darwin was cut.
  • The part where Gumball waxes his arm was cut.
• In "The Deal":
  • The scene where Richard licks Nicole's head is cut.
• In "The Petals":
  • Donut Cop pouring water onto his eyes was cut.
  • Some of the scenes where Leslie is showed up close were cut:
    • Leslie screaming, "YOU PEOPLE ARE INSANE!" is cut.
    • The part where Leslie is scared by Gumball and Darwin in the parking lot was cut.
    • The part where Harold is scared by Leslie was cut.
    • Harold screaming after he punched Leslie was cut.
    • The part where Leslie falls into a pile of compost was cut.
    • Leslie is attacked by worms was cut.
  • The part where Leslie removes his head was shortened.
• In "The Nuisance":
  • The transformation scene was shortened. Everything before Darwin, Nicole (her second one), and Anais' transformations was cut.
  • Anais' teeth changing was cut.
  • Gumball being mugged by Sal Left Thumb was cut.

Season 6

• In "The Vegging":
  • The scene where the humanoid climbs out of the TV is cut in order to make it seem that he appears from nowhere.
• In "The One":
  • Gumball burps and throws at Darwin was cut.
• In "The Neighbor":
  • During the flashback, Gumball and Darwin are beaten by a window was cut.
• In "The Faith":
  • When Jeff's red eye pops out before he faints, it is completely white.
• In "The Shippening":
  • Mr. Small's line, "I will!" is changed to "Thank you!"
• In "The Potion":
  • The scene where Julius hits Hector was replaced by a white flash.
  • Principal Brown's close up was cut.
• In "The Ad":
  • The moment where we see the fork with the cheese being heated up in the microwave was cut.
• In "The Awareness":
  • The scene where Gumball breaks out of his dry skin was cut.
  • The moment where Gumball eats a spoon of dirt was cut.
    • This scene can be seen in the The Gumball Chronicles: Vote Gumball...and Leslie? special.
• In "The Buddy":
  • Anais' line, "Our souls will fuse like polyester pants with leg skin after an accident with boiling water! But, like, in a good way." was cut.
• In "The Factory":
  • The scene where Gumball uses his eyes as suction cups to climb the wall and press the override button with his tongue was edited to only showcase an image of the button and Gumball's head rising as suction sounds are made, implying that he was climbing the wall normally.
    • This scene can be seen in the April 2019 promo.
• In "The Mess":
  • The scene where Gumball punches Jeff while Darwin is trying to stop him was cut.
  • The scene where Jeff "attacks" Gumball and Darwin was cut.
• In "The BFFs":
  • Fuzzy gets hit by Darwin was cut.
• In "The Inquisition":
  • The scene where Principal Brown throws his glasses on the ground and Miss Simian says, "Pull yourself together, Nigel! You sound like a winded Chinese opera singer. What's wrong?" was cut.

Banned episodes

While many episodes were edited down, very few of them were outright skipped or banned from ever airing on the channel. The episodes "The Virus" and "The Joy" were temporarily pulled from reruns amid during the early peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and "The Lady" is currently absent from HBO Max in Caucasus/Central Asian countries, but the only otherwise banned episode is "The Slap", which has since been unbanned (except on HBO Max) and currently airs on the Eastern Europe feed.

No episodes from seasons 1, 5 or 6 were ever banned from airing on the channel.

Errors

• In "The Awkwardness", after the scene was deleted, the audio where Gumball withdraws his hand was heard.
• In "The Roots", after the scene where the Wattersons freaking out was cut, the audio where the Wattersons freaking out was heard.
• In "The Fuss", after the scene where Richard tries to think was deleted, the audio where him tries to think and Darwin screaming was heard.
• In "The Stars":
  • After the scene where Gumball and Darwin have huge stomachs was cut, Larry's line, "Here's your check." was shortened to, "-check."
  • After the scene where Richard screams was cut, the audio where him screams was heard.
• In "The Grades", after the scene where Miss Simian bites Principal Brown's fingers was cut, the audio where him saying, "Really?" was heard.
• In "The Uncle", after the scene where Rotten Cupcake kicks Gumball in the groin, the audio where him kicks him in the groin was heard.
