Not to be confused with the 1978 dub.

ברבאבא is one of two Hebrew dubs of Barbapapa. It is the second Hebrew dub of the series, succeeding the 1978 Channel 1 dub of the same name.

On November 24, 2008, it was reported that Zebra TV Channels Ltd. was in contact with Annette Tison and Talus Taylor, the creators of the original show, for a possible dub of the show that was slated to air in 2010.[1] Eventually, a dub of the series premiered on the channel on September 3, 2017 during the "לילה הופ!" ("Hop! Night") programming block.[2] The show would stop airing in the same year.[3]

Notes[]

  • The characters names are mostly retained from the original dub, with the exception of Claudine and François, and are translated as follows:
    • Barbapapa – ברבאבא
    • Barbamama – ברבאמא
    • Barbabelle – ברבי-חן
    • Barbalala – ברבי-שיר
    • Barbotine – ברבי-דף
    • Barbouille – ברבא-נוי
    • Barbidur – ברבא-שריר
    • Barbidou – ברבא-חי
    • Barbibul – ברבא-נבון
    • Claudine – יעל
    • François – רן
  • Only the first season was dubbed, unlike the original dub.
  • Unlike the original dub, where the theme song to the dub is either not included in the beginning of each episode or instrumental, lyrics in Hebrew for the original theme song were written for this dub.
  • Two episodes of the show aired in one timeslot on Hop!, meaning that the dub was aired as 22 episodes with 44 segments.
    • The last episode of season 1, "Retour sur terre", likely aired on Hop! by itself, being paired with no episode accompanying it.[4]
  • Like the original dub, the phrase the Barbapapas use when transforming is translated as "טיקיטיקוץ, ברבאקונץ!".
