إينوياشا is the Arabic dub of 犬夜叉. It was distributed by Cartoon Star and dubbed in Syria, by Venus Centre. It is heavily censored but still manages to stay somewhat close to the original storyline.

The dub aired on the now-defunct SPTV from 2008 to 2014, and Spacetoon and its night programming block Space Power TV. The last time it broadcasted was in June 2018. The dub was recorded in 2007.

Only the first 52 episodes were dubbed and aired.

Censorship, changes and cuts[]

Due to the law of Islam, the dubbing company needed to cut scenes where female characters appeared naked or even when their legs were shown or were shown taking baths. All romantic references or interactions were removed. No episodes were skipped though.

Home media[]

All 52 episodes were released on two DVD boxsets solely in Syria and it's speculated that they have the uncensored version that is different from the TV one.

Trivia[]

  • The song used for both the opening and ending is the instrumental version of the ending song of the fourth Inuyasha movie, 楽園 (Rakuen).
