السنافر is one of several Arabic dubs of The Smurfs. It is the modern dubbing of the series, produced in 2011, commissioned by Turner Broadcasting System EMEA, for Cartoon Network Arabic. The dub was produced when Cartoon Network acquired the series, and realized that the distribution of episodes was not the same as that of the other international versions, in addition to the fact that several episodes did not have an Arabic dub, or had been dubbed in another studio and country, so it was decided to redubbed the series from the beginning.

Trivia[]
- Samir Chamas and Ismail Nanoua would participate for the first time in the original dubbing, and they would return in this Cartoon Network dubbing playing the main character, and the main antagonist, respectively, Papa Smurf and Gargamel.
- The script of this redub is highly based on the original dub from the 80s, retaining all the words adapted from that first dubbing:
- The name with which the word 'smurf' was adapted to the Arabic language was 'sanfur' (plural: 'alsanafir'), a word that, despite not having a meaning as such, has always been used to refer to these characters, and its possible origin hasn't been clarified, but there are several theories.
- All character names receive a literal translation, as in all languages. But one exception is the main villains: Gargamel is called 'Sharshabil', and his cat Azrael is called 'Harhour', because the character's original name is taken from the name of the angel of death of the Jewish religion, which is also present in the Muslim religion. It is possible that the reference it was censored for childrens audiences.
- Furthermore, the narration of the intro is exactly the same as the syndicated intro of the original dub, the only difference being that it is now narrated by a male voice instead of a female one. Gargamel's dialogue is also the same.
- During its broadcast on Cartoon Network, the series was broadcast in its original resolution and with titles in English, subtitled in Arabic. On the official YouTube channel, all titles are localized to Arabic.
- Two intros were produced for this dub. One based on the original, and another based on the UK/Europe version. Something similar happens in the Spanish version.
- There is a third alternate dubbing, produced for Jeem TV. This other dub has a different cast than the Cartoon Network dub, in addition to having a different intro.
