Notes[]
- This dub adapts the show for Islamic channels, changing the story with plots loosely based on the original episodes. This resulted in various episodes where only clips are dubbed, and the rest is just a hadith.
- Conan/Kamal is now just a normal kid who happens to solve crimes rather than a teen detective stuck in the body of a child. The characters Ran and Shinichi (Conan's true identity) are entirely cut from the dub, although a scene with Shinichi next to Conan is still in the first intro.
- No music is used in the dub as some interpretations of the Quran consider instruments haram (sinful).
- Despite not being the first show to receive an this kind of dub, this dub in particular received huge backlash and sparked controversy when it caught the general public's attention in the region.[1]
- The character names were localized, such as Conan being Kamal, Genta being Amir etc.
- Some of the voice actors from the first dub reprise their roles. In addition, this dub was co-produced with Venus Centre, the studio that produced the first dub.
- A different cast was used for the episode A Ghost Ship Murder Case.
- The first two opening themes for this dub are original, but the third version (used in episodes produced for Al-Majd) uses the melody and lyrics of the Venus Centre dub's theme song, albeit replacing the name Conan with Kamal.
- As with other acquired dubs on the channels, Al-Majd and Basma remove the dubbing credits in the Tihama-era episodes, replacing the ending version of the intro with a repeat of the opening version.
