Censorship[]
Several references to homosexuality, particularly Luz and Amity's queer relationship, were censored in this dub, as homosexuality is widely frowned upon in the Arab world and illegal in several, if not most Arab countries. For example, Luz's line, "Amity Blight, will you go out with me?" in "Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door" was changed to "Will you be friends with me?" to censor any references to their relationship.
Despite this, the scene of Luz and Amity kissing in "Through the Looking Glass Ruins" was not cut or censored in any way. The episode "Clouds on the Horizon", which also features a lip kiss between Luz and Amity, was accidentally aired on Disney Channel EMEA during a rerun, despite having potentially been skipped during premieres by the channel.
