جوني برافو is the Arabic dub of Johnny Bravo. This dub was released exclusively direct-to-video, and was never released on television.
History[]
In the Middle East, this series is considered an animated series for adults, given the themes of its plot, mainly Johnny's flirtation with women, which in Arab culture is considered inappropriate for children.[1] For this reason, the series was never released in this part of the world on television, and most likely never will.
The release date of the DVDs is unknown, but it is highly likely that it was released after the launch of Cartoon Network Arabic in 2010, as the series was previously unknown in this area. This dub is Lebanese, made by the studio Filmali (currently DeafCat Studios).[2]
Only a small fragment of this dub has been released online on the official YouTube channel of Cartoon Network MENA, which is a simple comedy short, where there are no women or flirtations. This is possibly the only material that will be published outside of the DVDs.
Despite this, however, the show did air in English on Fun Channel in the Middle East. Some Arabic people do recall Johnny Bravo airing on MBC 3 or ART Teenz, but it is unknown if that's true.
