عبقور is the Arabic dub of ドラえもん. It was broadcast on numerous national channels in the Arab World in the 1990s; and in later years, it would still be broadcast on regional television channels, such as MBC 1 or Spacetoon.
For this version, 52 episodes were dubbed, each consisting of three segments. This therefore gives a total of 156 segments, out of the 234 originally broadcast in 1979. The order used is similar to the one used in the two European Spanish dubs.

Censorship[]
The series suffered from several censorships, removing references to black comedy, dirty jokes, and other jokes, present in the original series. Some chapters were even directly banned. Shizuka is the most affected, since many of her scenes are cut, for exposing her body, even if the exposure is minimal (feet, shoulders, arms).
Below are the episodes, according to their original broadcast in Japan. The numbering does not match the Arabic broadcast, as the episodes were randomly dubbed.
Episode | Censorship details |
---|---|
9 | In this episode a purple passport appears, which shows the words "Passport of Satan" and a picture of the devil. The scene was digitally blurred to avoid religious references. Another scene when Nobita pulls Shizuka's skirt off was cut out.[5] |
Trivia[]
- A bumper of the dub uses ドラえもん (1973) theme song footage[6], despite the fact that the series never got a Arabic dub.
