शिन चैन is one of two Hindi dubs of クレヨンしんちゃん. It is airing on Sony Yay!.
Broadcast[]
The series was first announced on April 18, 2024 to be joining Sony Yay!'s lineup, coinciding with the channel's seventh anniversary.
The channel revealed that viewers could expect to see “never-before-seen episodes and movies” of the Crayon Shin-chan anime series on the channel in the summer. The show was set to be dubbed in five languages: Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali. Later, the channel began running teasers in May, and on May 11, a promotional spot announced that the series would debut on the channel on May 20, premiering weekdays at 11:00 AM IST. The series premiered on the channel in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, and Marathi, with an Odia dub releasing when the channel added the track on May 27. Episodes continued premiering until the end of the month, when Shin-chan's movies started airing on the channel. New episodes returned on July 29th.
Sony Yay! also expanded its footprint by curating a special Shin-chan multiverse, going beyond the linear medium to include digital and on-ground experiences, as well as various brand extensions. Fans could meet Shin-chan at in-person events.
Initially a continuation of Hungama TV's dub, only the 17th season was dubbed at first. However, on September 6, 2024, Sony Yay! premiered a redubbed version of the first season, and will be doing so for season 1 onwards, as a replacement for the dub of the same title aired on Hungama TV. Hungama TV continues to air their own dub of previous seasons.
