The song was written by Shoko Fujibayashi / 藤林 聖子 and originally performed by Hiroshi Kitadani / きただにひろし for episodes 1-47 of the series, during their original airings from October 20, 1999 to November 8, 2000 and was used again during the 1000th episode on November 21, 2021 as part of the franchise's "1000 Logs" project.
For episodes 279-283, the voices of the Straw Hat Pirates (Mayumi Tanaka / 田中真弓, Kazuya Nakai / 中井和哉, Akemi Okamura / 岡村明美, Kappei Yamaguchi / 山口勝平, Hiroaki Hirata / 平田広明, Ikue Ōtani / 大谷育江, Yuriko Yamaguchi / 山口由里子) peformed the song while TVXQ / 東方神起 (Kanji) とうほうしんき (Hiragana) covered the song for episodes 373-394 and AAA covered the song for the special ワンピース エピソード オブ ナミ ～航海士の涙と仲間の絆～ and Kōta Shinsato / 新里宏太 coverted the song for the special ワンピース エピソードオブルフィ ～ハンドアイランドの冒険～.
