ザ・スーパーマリオブラザーズ･ムービー is the Japanese dub of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It was released in theaters in Japan on April 28, 2023. Additionally, it had a limited release in select cities in the United States and Canada on the same day.[1]
The dub also received a limited release in Taiwan on May 5, 2023,[2] and in Hong Kong on May 11, 2023.[3]

Notes[]
- The teaser trailer for some reason was never dubbed in Japanese.
- Additionally, the original English version of the film with Japanese subtitles was released in Japanese theaters along with the dubbed version.
- Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto were heavily involved with the production of the dubbing script for this dub. This dub's script is not a merely an adapted translation of the original English script, unlike other official dubs of the movie, and takes some creative liberties with the original version.[6]
- While Giuseppe is still voiced by Charles Martinet in the Japanese dub, only the first and last parts of his line are dubbed, with him now saying "Zenzen!" (Not at all) instead of "Too much?", and the "wahoo" sounding slightly different. The "it's-a perfect" part was left undubbed.
- Spike's name is instead a translation of his western name rather than his original Japanese name, ブラッキー, meaning "Blackey / Blacky", likely to avoid potentially racist connotations.
- On April 20, 2023, Nintendo announced that it is standardizing the name of the character "Spike" across all regions.
