スター・ウォーズ is one of several Japanese dubs of Star Wars. As the first Japanese dub of the movie, distributed by Shochiku Co., Ltd, it was released in theaters in Japan on May 15, 1982.
Prior to this dub's release, the film was released in theaters in Japan on July 1, 1978, albeit subtitled.
Additionally, a Japanese translated version of the record The Story Of Star Wars was released around the same time, which includes Akira Kamiya as Luke Skywalker, Michio Hazama as Han Solo, Keiko Han as Princess Leia, Mahito Tsujimura as Darth Vader, Gorō Naya as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yasuo Yamada as Grand Moff Tarkin, and Kōichi Hashimoto as C-3PO, with screenplay by Akira Kagami and Mayumi Miyazaki, produced by Motohiko Takawa, and directed by Osamu Ueno.
