京剧猫 (Jingju Mao) is a Chinese animated TV series that premiered on December 28, 2015. It is based on the picture book Beijing Opera Cats and the Battle of Chang Ban Po by Beijing Bright Star Culture Development Co. The show is distributed worldwide by Splash Entertainment.[1]
The show follows the adventures of four feline heroes: Lil’ Pai, Jing, Zad and Wu. Together, they travel the world on a quest to defeat the Dark Lord An, who took over the Kingdom of Purpetua and corrupted many cats with his evil. He turned these corrupted cats into monsters, forcing them to serve in his army, and it is only when they are defeated by the Beijing Opera Cats that they can be freed of their corruption and returned to their true selves. However, some of the most powerful cats in the world were also corrupted – the leaders of various Beijing Opera Cat clans – so Lil’ Pai and his friends must defeat them one by one in order to save them before they can take on on An himself.
