今日の日はさようなら (English: Say Goodbye to Today) is a song originally performed by Ryoko Moriyama, released on the B side of the single 恋はみずいろ (Love is Blue). Written and composed by Shoichi Kaneko in 1966, the song was released on August 25, 1967. Although it became a hit and widely known thanks to Moriyama's singing, it was not written specifically for Moriyama.
This song would later be used in 1994 as an insert song for the anime series Crayon Shin-chan. In the second story of the 121st episode, the song is sung by the protagonist, Shinnosuke Nohara, played by Aki Uechi (Akiko Yajima), to his friend Kazama, at a farewell ceremony as Kazama plans to move to New York and attend another kindergarten.
Being a licensed song, some dubs of the episode left the song in Japanese unchanged, or if the song was dubbed, removed the instrumental or replaced it with a new one.
