僕のヒ一ロ一アカデミア is a Japanese anime produced by Studio Bones based on the manga of the same name by Kōhei Horikoshi. The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers in a world where they have become commonplace, but who still dreams of becoming a superhero himself. He is scouted by All Might, Japan's greatest hero, who chooses Midoriya as his successor after recognizing his potential, and helps to enroll him in a prestigious high school for superheroes in training.

Footnotes[]
- ↑ As a result of 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Crunchyroll has shut down streaming services in Russia, which means that the anime is currently unavailable to Russian and Belarusian viewers. The voice-over is still available in Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and other post-Soviet states.
- ↑ The entire series (including the first four seasons of the anime series) were indefinitely taken down from Chinese streaming services officially in February of 2020 after it was pointed out that the true name of one of the villain characters, Daruma Ujiko, is revealed to be "Shiga Maruta" ("志贺丸太") in manga chapter 259. Maruta ("丸太", "丸田", "圓田" or "圓木") is a controversial name for victims of the inhumane experiments of the infamous Japanese Unit 731 during World War 2. This resulted in the series getting boycotted by many Chinese and the author later apologized for the incident and the name changed for further chapters and as well as volumes and digital publications to another name, "Garaki Kyudai" (殻木球大), which is still controversial among Chinese and Japanese as the latter sounds similar to "九大" (Kyudai), short for Kyushu University (九州大学), which was once a POW torture camp used to fatal medical experiments and vivisection on nine Americans from a downed American B-29 during the near end of World War II. As of today, no new seasons of the anime were officially released in the Chinese mainland, as a result of the controversy.
