巴巴爸爸 is one of two Mandarin dubs of Barbapapa. As the first dub of the show, it premiered on CCTV-1's "Tangram" block in 1988. Episodes were also released on DVDs in China.
Only the first season is known to be dubbed.

- This is one of a few dubs of the first season to feature individual voices for the characters, although the voice cast is limited between few actors.
- The producers of the dub were not provided a clear BGM track: many times, the background music will repeat itself at parts where characters were not speaking in the original, and in some cases, any background music is outright muted.
- Like both Latin American Spanish dubs and the Arabic Qatar Television dub, and similarly the first European Spanish dub, the opening theme features a narrator simply voicing over the British English theme as he introduces all of the Barbapapas, as opposed to singing the song.
- Unlike those versions, the British English theme here is spliced poorly, starting over once the narrator starts speaking.
- Liu Chunyan, who provided voices in this dub, would go on to narrate as all of the characters in the 2013 Mandarin dub of the series.
