映画ちびまる子ちゃん イタリアから来た少年 is a 2015 Japanese anime film serving as the third ちびまる子ちゃん film and the first to be set in the continuity of the 1995 television series, itself based on the manga of the same name by Momoko Sakura, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the 1990 and 1995 television series. Produced by Fuji Television, Nippon Animation, Toho, Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, Yomiko Advertising and Fuji Network System, the film was directed by Jun Takagi from a screenplay by Sakura herself.
The Sakura family's life is turned upside-down when five students from around the world come to Japan to stay. Maruko and her family are hosting Andrea, a boy from Italy. Their new pals are full of surprises but for Maruko, she develops a bond between her and Andrea which evolves into a love story between the two.
The film was released in cinemas in Japan by Toho on December 23, 2015.
