Boonie Bears (simplified Chinese: 熊出没; traditional Chinese: 熊出沒; pinyin: xióng chūmò, "Roaming Bears") is a 2012 Chinese animated cartoon series shown on multiple Chinese platforms and television stations, including Central China Television (CCTV) and Beijing Television Network (BTV). The series features two bears, Briar and Bramble, who try to stop Logger Vick from destroying their forest home. Some other minor characters, mainly animals, are also shown, such as an owl, a gopher, and two monkeys. The show also have seven films and two New Year films made as of 2021.
The natural protection theme of this show has earned the praises from the Chinese government, but also has gathered criticism from CCTV, mainly for violence and bad language, alongside Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf. This show is also the target of being involved in attempted legal issue from parents over scenes that can imitated by kids which can result in injury and deaths.
