- "Kakaball" Karina Cheung, voice of Simea, is the daughter of Louis Cheung, voice of Maui.
- Louis Cheung will perform Maui's songs in this film, contrary to the last film.
- Si-Lan Lui (雷思蘭), the voice of Grandma Tala in the first film, died of lung cancer on September 12, 2021, at 65 years-old. She was replaced by Yuk Yee Lin (練玉儀).
