Astérix et le Coup du menhir is a 1989 French-German animated film written by Adolf Kabatek and Yannik Voight, directed by Philippe Grimond (in his director debut), and is the sixth film adaptation of the Asterix comic book series. The story combines the plots of "Asterix and the Big Fight" and "Asterix and the Soothsayer", where Getafix is accidentally made insane and amnesiac by Obelix, forcing Asterix to try to cure him as his village is deceived by a fraudulent soothsayer that works for the Romans.
The film had a successful box office run during its releases, ranking in 1,442,311 admissions in France and 2,457,000 admissions in Germany.
