Trivia[]
- The title of this dubbing comes from the Hessian translation of the comic book, as this audio track is only available as a special feature on Standard German DVDs and Blu-rays.
- "Zuckerschnecksche" (literally: sugar snail) is a German term of endearment and means something like "cutie".
- Several of the Asterix films were dubbed into various German dialects in the early 2000s.
- Asterix the Gaul was dubbed into Upper Saxon.
- The Twelve Tasks of Asterix was dubbed into Bavarian.
- Asterix Versus Caesar was dubbed into the Berlin dialect.
- Asterix in Britain was dubbed into Swabian.
- Asterix and the Big Fight was dubbed into Colognian.
- Asterix Conquers America is an interesting exception, as it was not dubbed in a conventional dialect, but in "Schwörerdeutsch", a sociolect.
- Only the Gaulish and the Pirates speak Saxon, the rest of the cast speaks Standard German.
- Das Bad für Kleopatra and Der Pudding mit Arsen were taken over from the Standard German dub, as they feature characters that speak without the Hessian dialect.
- In the former, only the spoken parts were re-recorded, the actual vocals are from the 1970s dubbing.
- The song that was newly recorded in Hessian uses the lyrics from the Standard German dub, but sung with a Hessian accent.
