Trivia[]

  • The title of this dubbing comes from the Hessian translation of the comic book, as this audio track is only available as a special feature on Standard German DVDs and Blu-rays.
    • "Zuckerschnecksche" (literally: sugar snail) is a German term of endearment and means something like "cutie".
  • Several of the Asterix films were dubbed into various German dialects in the early 2000s.
  • Only the Gaulish and the Pirates speak Saxon, the rest of the cast speaks Standard German.
  • Das Bad für Kleopatra and Der Pudding mit Arsen were taken over from the Standard German dub, as they feature characters that speak without the Hessian dialect.
    • In the former, only the spoken parts were re-recorded, the actual vocals are from the 1970s dubbing.
    • The song that was newly recorded in Hessian uses the lyrics from the Standard German dub, but sung with a Hessian accent.
