Beate Hasenau was a German actress, voice actress and cabaret artiste.

Biography[]

Beate Hasenau completed a commercial apprenticeship and took acting and singing lessons at the same time. After initially being engaged at theatres in Frankfurt, the artist became known primarily for her appearances in the cabaret Die Stachelschweine (The Porcupines). She was also a regular guest at the Münchner Lach- und Schießgesellschaft (Munich Laughing and Shooting Society).

Since 1961, Hasenau has lent her voice to Claudia Cardinale, Anita Ekberg, Gina Lollobrigida, Monica Vitti, Raquel Welch and Barbara Ewing as a voice actress.

As an actress, Beate Hasenau was mainly seen on television. In these appearances, she often portrayed ladies of the demimonde with her own smoky voice. In the 1970s, she was a radio presenter.

Beate Hasenau died of cancer on October 1, 2003 in Hamburg at the age of 67 in the hospice Hamburg Leuchtfeuer (Hamburg beacon) and was buried anonymously in the Ohlsdorf cemetery.
