Blackbird Sound (formerly known as Iyuno Russia) is a Russian dubbing studio.

History[]

Previously, from 2005 to 2009, Russia already had its SDI facility, SDI Sun Studio Russia, that was closed due to financial problems.

From 2009 onwards, SDI Media produced Russian dubs outsourcing the recording works to two studios: ARC·TV in Moscow, Russia and DR Studios in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2015, DR Studios was closed and ARC·TV was sold to VSI Group, becoming VSI Moscow.[2][3]

On May 21, 2013, SDI Media re-establishes itself in Russia, through a joint venture with New Media, a dubbing studio and television production company founded on September 25, 2001, and was then renamed to SDI Media Russia.[4]

On April 1, 2021, SDI Media was acquired by Iyuno Media Group, which led to the studio becoming known as Iyuno-SDI Group, Russia or Iyuno-SDI Group, Moscow. On October 26, 2022, the studio, just as the other global studios of the group, was renamed to Iyuno Russia.[5]

On May 7, 2024, the company's legal name was changed to Blackbird Sound[6], with the owner's name being changed from SDI Media Russia B.V. to SG Blackbird Studios B.V. respectively.
