Bodo Wolf was a German actor and voice actor.
Biography[]
Bodo Wolf was born in Halle an der Saale in 1944, the son of the actor couple Otto-Erich Edenharter and Annelies Edenharter. His younger sister Birgit Edenharter also took up acting and worked as a dubbing artist. At the end of 1986, he emigrated with her from the GDR to West Berlin. He completed his acting training at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch (Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts).
Wolf lived in Neusalza-Spremberg. He died in November 2023 at the age of 79.
Career[]
Wolf had theater engagements all over Germany.
From 1970, he also appeared in front of the camera for film and television, in DEFA and DFF film and television productions. He is best known to a wide German audience from several DEFA fairytale film productions, in which he usually played the role of the prince.
His best-known dubbing roles are probably Adrian Monk from the TV series of the same name, for which he won an award in 2007, and John Kramer, alias Jigsaw, from the Saw series, who was also his last role.
He retired in 2022 and only returned for the last Saw movie.
