Brujas is a Chilean drama telenovela. Produced by Canal 13.
The series debuted on Canal 13 in Chile on March 7, 2005. It ended its original run on September 14, 2005, after one season and 135 episodes in its original Chilean version. The international version has 110 episodes.
The telenovela tells the story of Beatriz, a jealous woman of humble origins who managed to rise by becoming the first prominent service professional at the "Ángeles" agency, a leading company in offering women specialized in domestic work. It was there where Beatriz met Vicente Soler, a man she would fall in love with, owner of the company and son of the haughty Rebeca Márquez. Five outstanding professionals from the company were chosen for their good performance, and Vicente, as compensation, invites them to spend a night in a luxurious hotel in Santiago, Chile. The next day, Vicente wakes up dead due to a heart attack apparently caused by having sexual relations, something should't have done, due to medical prescription. Beatriz, devastated by the death of her husband, but thirsty for revenge, inherits her husband's position in the agency to be closer to her now rivals. In addition, she hires Dante, a young gambler and adventurer, to investigate and discover who was with Vicente the night of his death.
The 5 women who were with Vicente Soler that night were: Casandra, an ambitious woman willing to do anything to achieve a better work and social position; Gretel, an orderly woman, daughter of German Chileans; Mariana, a very flirtatious young brunette; Candela, a dancer; and the dreamy and innocent Noelia.
