Buffy, přemožitelka upírů is one of two Czech dubs of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The first Czech dub of the series, it premiered on TV Nova in the summer of 1999. The opening episode of the series aired on July 3, other episodes followed at weekly intervals at the same time (on Saturdays approximately between 10 and 11 in the morning). However, only the first five episodes were shown, because on August 5, 1999, Vladimír Železný, with the holder of the broadcasting license for TV Nova, the company CET 21, started his own broadcasting, independent of the service company ČNTS. The latter held the rights for films, series and other programs, which were therefore no longer broadcast after that date. The entire first season was shown on TV Nova in the summer of 2001 and was followed by the second and third seasons for the premiere.
The remaining seasons were dubbed for RTVS of Slovakia by Pro-Time, but didn't officially air in the Czech Republic until the re-dub made for Prima Cool aired in 2010.
