Buford and the Galloping Ghost is an American animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera. The series consists of two segments, both of which were originally aired as part of Yogi's Space Race on NBC until January 27, 1979 when the two were repackaged as one whole series into a half-hour timeslot.
The first segment, The Buford Files, focuses on a lazy bloodhound named Buford who is the pet dog of teenagers Cindy Mae and Woody, who solve mysteries in Fenokee Swamp that baffle Sheriff Muletrain and his overeager but dimwitted deputy Goofer McGee. The other segment, The Galloping Ghost, focuses on the short and feisty Nugget Nose, a ghostly Old West gold prospector in the desert who serves as the guardian of cowgirls Rita and Wendy, who work for Fenwick Fuddy at his dude ranch.
