Carlos Íñigo Medina (December 13, 1960 - September 17, 2017) was a Mexican voice actor who worked in the dubbing industry for over 36 years. Some of his best known roles in Latin America included Joey Wheeler in Yu-Gi-Oh!, the title character in Rocko's Modern Life, and Professor Frink in The Simpsons.
Íñigo studied acting at the Andrés Soler Institute, a part of the National Actors Association; he also garnered a degree in Foreign Trade. His "godfather" in dubbing was Eduardo Liñán, and his teachers included Alberto Gavira, Magdalena Ruvalcaba, Maynardo Zavala, Rosario Muñoz Ledo, Narciso Busquets, Carlos Magaña and Fernando Álvarez. Íñigo mostly worked under Audiomaster 3000, though would additionally serve for Art Sound Mexico, Candiani Dubbing Studios and IDF later on. Some say that Íñigo had a similar voice to Alfonso Obregón's (with Íñigo's being more nasally and higher), which resulted in the actors often substituting each other.
Outside of acting, Íñigo performed as a speaker, music teacher and singer, performing in palenques, hotels and bars, singing genres such as ranchero, ballad, pop and tropical. However, due to declining health, he would leave the music world to focus solely on his dubbing work.
Íñigo passed away on September 17, 2017 due to cardiac complications. His last known work would be during the first season of the Latin American dub of Chuck's Choice.
