Cathlen Gawlich is a German actress and voice actress.

Biography[]

Cathlen Gawlich, who grew up in Sömmerda and Oberheldrungen, applied for the so-called "baby test" at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen in Potsdam-Babelsberg (University of Film and Television) at the age of 13. After 5 years of regular examinations (each consisting of two different roles, singing, dancing and improvisation) and subsequent matriculation at the age of 18, she completed her studies in 1992 with an acting diploma. Cathlen Gawlich was already engaged at the Hans-Otto-Theater in Potsdam in the 2nd year of her studies. In 1991, her third year of study, she was engaged for 10 years at the Deutsches Theater Berlin (German Theater). At the same time, she was a guest artist at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Berlin State Opera). Cathlen has been a regular guest at the Schaubühne Berlin since 2004.

Cathlen Gawlich is a permanent fixture as a speaker for audio description, audio books, features, commercials and as an actress in radio plays and above all in dubbing. For example, she lends her voice to Sandy Cheeks in SpongeBob SquarePants. In 2021, she took 2nd place at the Deutscher Hörbuchpreis (German Audiobook Award).

Cathlen Gawlich lives with her family in Berlin.
