Chespirito, is a Mexican series created, shot, directed and starring Roberto Gómez Bolaños (known as Chespirito, nickname that gives name to the program), produced by Televisa, that aired on Las Estrellas channel from January 28, 1980 to September 25, 1995.
It was a sketch show, where the various characters created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, such as El Chavo del Ocho, and El Chapulín Colorado, along with many others, live together in the same program. The program is really a remake of another with a similar premise, from the year 1970, from which the two previous characters were born. This version, unlike the original, became highly recognized throughout Latin America, also reaching countries like Brazil and Italy. It is one of the longest comedy shows on Mexican television, with 15 years of uninterrupted broadcasting, and more than 600 episodes broadcast.

The broadcast of the program was temporarily suspended. On August 1, 2020, all stations that broadcast Chespirito and other Gómez Bolaños programs in various countries had to suspend the broadcast of the series on their services due to conflicts between Televisa and Grupo Chespirito (heirs of Gómez Bolaños), who owns the characters and episode scripts.
In September 2024, it was announced that an agreement had been reached between both parties in the dispute, returning the series El Chavo and El Chapulín Colorado to free-to-air television and streaming. Although the Chespirito show is also part of that agreement, it is not yet known whether it will be broadcast by any channel in the future, which will happen if a network acquires its broadcasting rights.
