Trivia[]

About production[]

  • The production of the dubbing, from the selection of the cast to the end of the recordings and retakes, took one year and eight months. A standard dubbing with that many episodes usually takes three months, to promote the series, Animax did written interviews with the leading actors Manuel Campuzano, Hugo Núñez, Bruno Coronel and Javier Olguín and the representatives of Viz Media, Mitsuko Kitajima and Joshua Lopez.
  • According to Rebeca Gómez, this was one of the few anime series to be recorded in order of episode broadcast in Mexican dubbing, which allowed the actors to evolve with their characters.
  • The dubbing director Rolando de Castro read the first volume of the Death Note manga to understand the project and guide the actors.

Technical data[]

  • The version with locations, texts and credits in Spanish is only included in its TV broadcast.
  • The English ambient vocals can be seen in episode 4, coming from the English track provided by Viz Media.

About adaptation[]

  • It is one of the few anime series where the Japanese 'R', which sounds like "ere", is correctly pronounced, unlike other dubs where it is pronounced "erre", or "ele".
