Detlef Bierstedt is a German actor, voice actor, voice director and he adapted scripts for dubbing.

Biography[]

Detlef Bierstedt trained as an actor at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst „Ernst Busch“ (Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts) in East Berlin from 1973 to 1976 and received his first stage engagement at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam. This was followed by further engagements at East Berlin's state theaters. Bierstedt also played various supporting roles in productions by DEFA and DFF, the state film production and television company of East Germany.

He also got his first dubbing roles at DEFA.

His move to West Germany in 1985 was mainly followed by guest roles in television series.

In 2022, Bierstedt announced that he had retired from his dubbing work. He cited time and stress as his reasons, as well as wanting to devote himself fully to audio dramas and audio books.
