Digimon is the German dub of デジモンアドベンチャー.
History[]
According to the German Wikipedia article,[1] Digimon Adventure aired in Germany on RTL II every Monday to Friday afternoons. However, only the first 52 episodes were aired during the first broadcast. Subscribers to the German pay TV provider Premiere were able to see the last two episodes earlier on Fox Kids Germany, before those episodes were aired on RTL II on December 25, 2000 as part of PokéMonster DigiAction X-MAS Spezials block. The broadcasting rights were later sold to Tele 5. In March 12, 2001, the first nine episodes of the anime series were released on VHS in Germany.
The German version, like the Latin American Spanish dub, were based off the unedited and uncut Japanese original version. However, for marketing reasons, the English names for the characters were used on the German dub, which were specified by the Munich licensor "CTM Concept - TV & Merchandising".
In 2016, KSM Anime released the complete 54-part season on three DVD boxes including a limited collector's slipcase. The discs only offer the German dubbed version and various trailers, picture galleries and booklets as extras; these were also includes the episode guide.
On September 27, 2017, it was announced that Tele 5 would air the anime series again on German free TV after more than six years.[2]
