Ekkehardt „Ekki/Ecki“ Belle was a German actor, voice actor and voice director.

Biography[]

Belle already appeared in commercials and television films as a child.

According to Belle himself, he retired from the film business because he no longer wanted to "clean door handles" for his roles and appreciated the security and independence that dubbing roles gave him. There were hardly any film appearances after the mid-1980s, with one exception in 2013.

Belle has made a name for himself as a sought-after voice actor since the 1980s, including as the German voice of Bill Bixby, Steven Seagal, Lorenzo Lamas and Kevin Sorbo. By his own account, he has spoken well over 3000 roles.

Belle lived with his wife in Munich until her death. He was previously in a relationship with Aude Landry for several years. His nephew Maximilian Belle and his niece Jacqueline Belle are also active in the dubbing industry. Ekkehardt Belle died at the age of 67 following an operation.
