Plot[]
Carlos Valdivia is an important engineer who works as an executive for a financial investment firm in Sanhattan, Santiago de Chile. His ambition and arrogance lead him to make a risky, unauthorized stock market move that ends in a huge loss for the company he works for. Rafael, the owner of the company and who has been almost like a father to him, feels betrayed and fires him. Even though he did not act alone, Carlos is the only one who ends up paying for his audacity with three months in jail. Rosario, the owner's daughter and Carlos's secret lover, gave him the software keys to carry out the operation, and she went unpunished despite her complicity. After leaving prison and in financial ruin, Carlos returns to the commune of San Miguel, also in Santiago, where he lives with his father, a widowed teacher at the Principe Carlos school, and his brother Francisco "aka Pancho", also a teacher at the school. They are the ones who encourage him to rebuild his life and take on the challenge of being the replacement for the math teacher.
There he meets Ana, the beautiful art teacher, and a group of young people, her students, whom he learns to understand and appreciate. As expected, given his lack of experience and the difficulty of working with young people at risk of social exclusion, Carlos' first day of school, whom the students quickly nickname 'Charlie', is a disaster. He gradually becomes aware of the problems, dreams and hopes of this group of high school students and decides to do everything possible to give them a better education. Along the way, Carlos Valdivia will commit himself to this as he had not done before with other people and will rebuild his life with other values.
