Filly Funtasia is a Chinese-Spanish animated television series created by Jacob and Henrik Anderson. The series is based on the Filly franchise. The series first premiered worldwide on Frisbee in Italy on March 11, 2019.
In English, the series' original language, three sporadic episodes were released on KidsFlix and MyToonz around January 2021, with a demo dub. A finalized English version premiered on Channel 5 in Singapore on March 3, 2022.
The series follows the adventures of Rose, as she attends a magical academy in the royal kingdom of Funtasia, with her best friends – Cedric, Bella, Lynn, and Will. The Fillys go to school and study their crystal powers, all while Wranglum, the Wizard of the Dark Mirror, along with his minion Battiwigs, try to steal all of the magic in the kingdom.

Different English dubs[]
Before the finalized English dub that aired on Channel 5 was produced, there were at least two attempts prior, both of which were likely demo recordings:
- Audio of the first demo was used in the first ever promo made for the series, that was released on October 15, 2013. It used clips from the first episode, "The Cupcake Mystery". Audio was then used in the fourth promo made for the series, that was presented at MIPCOM 2015, and then saw release on October 6, 2015. This one used clips from the second episode, "The Blue Rainbow".
- Much later, on February 16, 2022, a YouTube account of unknown origin called "OIAHDFIAGIHG" released a full copy of "The Blue Rainbow" with this dub. This dub is likely what the Italian dub based itself on. It should also be noted that, excluding the songs which remain the same, the background music used in this dub is entirely different from the finalized version.
- The second demo is the only one to be released officially. Three random episodes: "Hide and Seek", "The Lost Mermaid", and "Farina, the Fire Dragon", were suddenly (and without advertisement) made available on the MyToonz and KidsFlix apps around January 2021. They are also available through Airtel Xstream in India.
- The aforementioned OIAHDFIAGIHG channel reuploaded the "Farina, the Fire Dragon" episode, while releasing this dub's version of "The Magical Maze" to the public.
- The voice cast to either of these dubs is not known to this day. Morgan C. Jones (who works closely with Telegael in Ireland) was said to have participated in one of the English versions, but when asked, he said that he doesn't remember which character he played.[2]
- Likely because of there being no definitive, consistent English dub at the time, many of the dubs that came out were based on the Italian dub from season one, while in season two, one of the English dubs was finally used as a base (both proven by the Slovene dub, which did not dub any songs).
Release[]
Filly Funtasia did not debut in its original English language for the longest time. The series first premiered with an Italian dub on March 11, 2019 on Frisbee in Italy.[3][4] This lead to several dubs following this to use the Italian audio as their source of dubbing in the first season.
The series eventually began broadcasting in English on Channel 5 in Singapore starting March 3, 2022[5]. Episodes of season one and season two were mixed together while airing, being specified as one whole season, and using an episode order completely different from the order used worldwide, as well as the orders present in China and Venezuela.

- The English episodes that air on Channel 5 in Singapore are edited for syndication, cutting certain scenes out (including plot-relevant scenes) from a select amount of episodes likely for commercial purposes. Even simpler scenes such as fade outs receive a cut from time to time. This is something the network has done themselves; On TrueID in Thailand, the English episodes are hosted in full.
- Initially, a European Spanish dub was planned for the series as it was originally slated to premiere on Clan TVE in Spain around the time the show was announced. Nothing came of this, however the Latin American Spanish dub eventually began airing on their Clan Internacional channel, which broadcasts in many countries including the US.
