Futurama is the Arabic dub of the show of the same name. The series was dubbed into Modern Standard Arabic by the Syrian Venus Centre for a child audience, and broadcast on Spacetoon. Similarly to the infamous short-lived Arabic-dubbed version of fellow Matt Groening-created animated series The Simpsons, the Arabic dub of Futurama, though less known than the Simpsons one, also notoriously deviates heavily from the English original. However, the Arabic Simpsons dub was aimed at an older audience, produced by a completely different cast and crew, and dubbed in the Egyptian Arabic dialect rather than Modern Standard Arabic.

Censorship[]
- The series was acquired by the children's channel Spacetoon. Due to this, the dub was aimed at children. This caused the show to be heavily censored:
- All suggestive dialogue and sexual scenes were cut.
- Scenes depicting violence, gore and blood were removed.
- The scripts are rewritten in such a way that the plots of the episodes change drastically.
- All religious references are completely removed.
- Alcohol is removed, especially those of Bender.
- Any scenes where a character shows an uncovered body part (arms, legs, etc.) is censored, the frames being edited, or only cutting the scenes.
- The most noticeable example is that of Leela. The character, recognized by her sleeveless white shirt, in the original version usually always has her arms uncovered. In the dub, blue sleeves are drawn in every frame that is possible (painting her arms blue), so that she looks like she is wearing a kind of blue neck polo shirt. If Leela appears in a scene that is difficult to make this edit, it is likely that the scene will be replaced by some overlapping scene.
- In order to recover the lost time of the deleted scenes, scenes from this or other chapters are superimposed and others are frozen.
- For unknown reasons, the intro was also censored:
- The traditional sequence of flying ads that appear while the spaceship is in flight, along with the New New York transport tubes, are replaced by a random clip of Bender dancing, and a pan of Planet Express.
Localization[]
- Almost each and every one of the names was translated literally, through their transliteration. The only exception is Leela, who in this dub was called Lily.
- All English credits are removed, including the intro, keeping only the series title.
- Before each episode, an image of a scenario, taken from an episode, is shown, and above it, the episode number is shown, in the Hindu-Arabic numeral system. For example, the first episode of the series 'Space Pilot 3000' is presented simply as '١' (1).
