Gangnam Project is a Canadian-South Korean live-action coming-of-age children's television series created by Sarah Haasz and produced by Pillango Productions, Cottonwood Media, and Aircraft Pictures. The series was developed with financial support from the Shaw Rocket Fund and the Canada Media Fund, and it was co-commissioned by the BBC. Executive produced by co-showrunners Sarah Haasz and Romeo Candido and developed for television by Candido and Nathalie Younglai, the series made its world debut on CBBC and BBC iPlayer on February 26, 2024. It was later released on CBC Gem on March 8, 2024. A second season has been greenlit and was released on CBBC, BBC iPlayer, and CBC Gem on March 5, 2025.[4]

The series follows 16-year-old Hannah Shin, a spirited biracial Canadian/Korean teen with a deep enthusiasm for K-pop. She struggles with not feeling Korean enough on her first trip to her father's homeland, but bubbly and happy-go-lucky by nature, she shakes off the doubt and goes on to live every teenage girl's dream – becoming an English tutor for idols at Korea's elite K-pop entertainment company and ending up as a trainee herself.
