George of the Jungle is an American animated series produced by Jay Ward Productions that originally aired on ABC as part of its Saturday morning programming from September 9 to December 30, 1967.
Each episode of the series was composed of three segments. This included the segment that was given top billing "George of the Jungle", which focused on the dim-witted but big-hearted George who is always called upon by District Commissioner Alistair to save inhabitants of the jungle territory of Mbwebwe Province in Africa from various threats. Other segments were "Tom Slick" which focused on a racer who competed in various races with the Thunderbolt Greaseslapper, and "Super Chicken", which was about a millionaire chicken with a lion sidekick, who lived a double life as a superhero.
