Goodbye for Now is played at the end of every episode of The Book of Pooh. Written by Brian Woodbury and series creator Mitchell Kriegman, it is performed by the main cast, and by the band They Might Be Giants.
There are two versions of the song. The original version was used on initial broadcasts of the series, on all home video releases, and on the prints of Season 1. A shortened version, eliminating They Might Be Giants' verse, is used on Disney+ prints of Season 2.
The original version was released on the 2002 album Songs from The Book of Pooh, albeit with the main cast performing the final verses instead. The shortened version was released on the 2001 album Playhouse Disney.
