Hi-5 is an American adaptation of a show with the same name. It was produced by Kids Like Us for Discovery Kids and TLC, featured within the Ready Set Learn programming blocks on both networks. The show is an adaptation of the original Australian series created by Helena Harris and Posie Graeme-Evans, with production taking place in Australia. The series made its debut on February 24, 2003, and received acknowledgment, including three Emmy Award nominations.

As in the original Australian version, it was divided into segments of five episodes, each representing a "week" (intended to air from Monday to Friday). Each week had a different theme and featured a unique "Song of the Week", which played at the beginning and end of each episode.

Two seasons were created, the first encompassing 45 episodes and the second comprising 25 episodes. Season 3, also consisting of 25 episodes and featuring a slightly altered cast, was also in production but was halted after filming several episodes and a CD in July 2006.
