- In the 1990s, an illegal dub was produced for VHS from Walkman \ Cinepatrizia S.r.l
- The 2003 special edition DVD featured an alternate Italian dub that has one difference compared to the regular one: Timon and Pumbaa have different voice actors, respectively Luigi Ferraro and Renato Montanari. Multiple claims confirmed that this was the preliminary audio track recorded before Disney gave the approval for the final voice actors of those characters, which was used by mistake in the 2003 DVD.
