The main building at the Lankwitzer Mühlenstraße was built in 1938 for the Air Force. After the Second World War, the building was used primarily by Mosaik, a production company. Wenzel Lüdecke rented the building in 1949 and then acquired the entire complex in 1974.

In 1972, Berliner Synchron worked with Kirch Group to create a new company, Arena Synchron, which was managed until 1997 in the same building and mainly dubbed television series for the Kirch Group.

On 3 July 2006, Berliner Synchron was converted from a GmbH into an AG (joint stock company).[1]

On September 2, 2014, Berliner Synchron GmbH was spun off from Berliner Synchron AG which is renamed the following day to Berliner Synchron Holding AG.[2]

On September 3, 2015, Berliner Synchron Holding AG was renamed Cinemedia AG as part of insolvency proceedings and liquidated on August 4, 2016. Still in August, Berliner Synchron GmbH was purchased by S&L Media Group.[3]
