Iyuno Norway (formerly known as Iyuno-SDI Group, Norway, Iyuno Media Group Norway, BTI Studios Norway, Eskimo Avenue, SDI Media Norway, Dubberman Norway and Sun Studio Norway) is a Norwegian recording studio part of Iyuno.

History[]

Sun Studio / SDI Media[]

Sun Studio Norway was the Norwegian branch of the Danish dubbing studios group Sun Studio, settled in Oslo in 1988.[1]

On September 11, 2006, the Danish SDI Media acquired the Sun Studio Group, which also included Sun Studio Norway, which became SDI Media Norway in 2009.[2][3]

BTI Studios[]

Broadcast Text was a Swedish translation and subtitling company founded in 1995 through the merger of the Norwegian Norsk Tekst, founded in 1981, and the Swedish West Film & Video.[4][5]

In 2004, the company was renamed Broadcast Text International AS.

From 2007 onwards, its new subsidiary Eskimo Avenue began producing dubs in the main Nordic languages, including Norwegian.

In 2011, BTI built two dubbing and mixing studios in Norway and presumably, Eskimo Avenue closed its operations between this year and 2014.[6]

In 2014, the company was renamed BTI Studios Norway.

In 2015, BTI Studios opened a facility in Bergen dedicated exclusively to subtitling.

After the purchase of Dubberman, BTI Studios ended up closing their own facilities and in the fourth quarter of 2016, BTI moved its Oslo headquarters to Dubberman Norway facilities.

Dubberman[]

Dubberman Norway was the Norwegian branch of the Danish dubbing company Dubberman, settled in Oslo in 2006.[7]

On October of 2015, BTI Studios acquired Dubberman, as well as it's facilities, as part of their expansion in the Nordic dubbing market.[8]

Iyuno[]

On September 12, 2019, Iyuno Media Group acquired BTI Studios, establishing itself in Norway now through its new subsidiary Iyuno Media Group Norway.[9]

On April 1, 2021, SDI Media was acquired by Iyuno Media Group, which led to the merger of the two companies and, consequently, the same happened with the Norwegian subsidiaries of both, creating Iyuno-SDI Group, Norway. In 2022, the former SDI Media studio was closed and since October 26 the studio, just as the other global studios of the group, was renamed to Iyuno Norway.[10]

The current Iyuno Norway continues to specialize in Norwegian-language voice recording and dubbing for various projects such as films and series through its headquarters in Oslo, and also has an office in Bergen dedicated to normal and live subtitling.
