Iyuno Portugal (formerly known as Iyuno-SDI Group, Portugal, PTSDI Media or Matinha - Estúdios Som) is a Portuguese recording studio headquartered in Marvila, Lisbon part of Iyuno.

It is the official studio of Disney for European Portuguese dubs.[1]

Most dubs produced by Iyuno Portugal are made at their studio in Lisbon, however they have also outsourced dubs to Cinemágica and Somnorte in Porto.

History[]

Matinha - Estúdios Som was founded on July 1, 1992 as a subsidiary of the Spanish Abaira Group.[2] According to the "Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Intelectual" (National Institute of Intellectual Property), the name "Matinha Estúdios Som", as well as its insignia, was presented for registration on May 6, 1993, having been enacted only on September 12, 1995 by Carlos António and Santos Rodrigues. The first film dubbed by the studio was the movie The Lion King. It was considered the second best version worldwide, after its release. From then on, and with only rare exceptions, all Disney movies and series began to be dubbed in this studio.[1]

In July 5, 2006, a new company named Soundub was formed by the merge of the Spanish Estudios Abaira, Art&Co, CTV Galaxia and Soundtrack, while Matinha has became a subsidiary of the new company.

In 2013, SDI Media Group established itself in the Iberian Peninsula, acquiring Soundub.[3] From then on, the studio began to be credited as Soundub, then as PTSDI Media, and finally as SDI Media Iberia.

On April 1, 2021, SDI Media was acquired by Iyuno Media Group, which renamed the Portuguese branch to Iyuno-SDI Group, Portugal. On October 26, 2022, the studio, just as the other global studios of the group, was renamed to Iyuno Portugal.[4]
