History[]

BTI Studios[]

Trosol was a Welsh subtitling and translation company established in 1985.[1]

Independent Media Support (IMS) was a British subtitling company founded on September 22, 1989, in London.

Broadcast Text London was the British branch and which also served as the European hub for the Swedish translation and subtitling company Broadcast Text, and was founded on April 26, 2004 in London.[2]

On July 23, 2010, the company was renamed Broadcast Text International.

On January 10, 2012, BTI acquired Zone Studio from Chello Zone, which owned dubbing studios in Romania and Poland and was based in the UK. The company and its branches were renamed to BTI Studios on March 20.[3][4]

IMS and its subsidiary, Trosol became part of BTI Studios in April 18, 2013.[5] In the same year, BTI began offering dubbing services at its British headquarters.

SDI Media[]

SDI Media UK was born out of two translation and subtitling companies: Palmidol, founded on February 8, 1988 in London, and Farmstone Services, founded on May 23, 1990 in Cardiff, Wales (with its headquarters moving to London around 1996).[6][7]

On August 8, 1988, Palmidol was renamed Subtitling International U.K. after its acquisition by Subtitling & Dubbing International (SDI).

On June 20, 1991, Farmstone Services was renamed Subint.

On March 20, 2001, Subtitling International U.K. took on the international identity of the parent company and was renamed SDI Media UK. On April 30, SDI Media acquired Subint and made it the international headquarters of the SDI Media Group, until this status was transferred to the Los Angeles, USA headquarters in mid-2000s.

Although the British branch did not offer dubbing recording services, it did offer dubbing editing and mixing services.[8]

Iyuno[]

On September 12, 2019, Iyuno Media Group established itself in United Kingdom following the purchase of BTI Studios and its British subsidiaries, which was renamed Iyuno Media Group UK, and the Welsh Trosol, that was renamed Iyuno Media Group UK Cardiff.[9]

On April 1, 2021, SDI Media was acquired by Iyuno Media Group, which led to the merger of the two companies and, consequently, the same happened with the British subsidiaries of both, creating Iyuno-SDI Group, England and Iyuno-SDI Group, Wales.

On September 16, 2021, the Welsh branch separated from Iyuno's business, regaining its former name Trosol.[10]

Since October 26, 2022, the studio, just as the other global studios of the group, was renamed to Iyuno UK.[11]
